The Silca Secret Chain Blend brings the same super-speed and silence as Silca’s Super Secret Chain Lube but in a hot-melt wax-dipped chain version.
The Silca Secret Chain Lube is based on the same formula Silca CEO Josh Poertner has used for years with pro teams that have claimed victories at the highest level of cycling. The idea behind the lube was to bring the same hot melt wax advantage to a drip applied lubricant. However, many Silca customers are already fans of hot waxing chains, and requested the lube in a hot melt version. So, the Silca Hot Melt Wax blend is the answer to their calls.
Consisting of highly refined laboratory-grade paraffin and a high concentration of three sizes of Tungsten disulfide the blend not only acts as a lubricant but changes the service of the chain. Filling any crevices of the metal with the highly lubricious and wear-resistant Tungsten disulfide, the Secret Chain Blend will get faster over time with repeated waxings.
The wax creates an incredibly fast running, low-friction chain. The nanoplatelets of WS2 (Tungsten disulfide) has less than 1/3 the dynamic coefficient friction of PTFE and ¼ that of Molybdenum Disulfide (MoS2).
The Silca Secret Chain Blend packaging makes hot waxing a chain simple, even if you are new to the process. Simply place the chain into the open pouch. Place the pouch into a pot of room temperature water and bring it up to just below boiling point. You should see the wax begin to melt. There is a transparent panel on the side of the pouch so you can check the process. Using a hanging hook, bent spoke, or zip tie lift the chain carefully out of the pouch, leaving it to dry hanging up above the pouch to collect any excess wax.
The wax formula has the added benefit of being environmentally friendly and will help extend the chain and drivetrain component lifetime by up to x10.

Sachet Instructions
1. Grab your empty old bottle of Muc-Off. (You may need a pair of adjustable pliers to remove the trigger from the bottle). Or purchase our Bottle for Life.
2. Fill up to the shoulders of the bottle with 1 litre of lukewarm water for faster formula activation!
3. Carefully cut one corner of the sachet open along the diagonal cut lines.
4. You can carefully pour the sachet straight into the top of the bottle. Or using the box, fold the inside of the lid together using the printed lines as a guide and use this as a funnel to pour the powder into your bottle. (Please see our video for full instructions on this.
5. Screw your spray trigger back onto the top of the bottle. Ensure it’s tight!
6. Shake the bottle vigorously for 30-60 seconds to activate the formula. If you notice any undissolved powder simply keep shakin’ it!
7. Go clean that filthy bike!
