When we first premiered the Factor O2, it was ridden to mountain top stage victories at the Tour de France and second place at Paris-Roubaix. As good as that version of the O2 proved to be, this revamped O2 is even better, thanks largely to improved manufacturing techniques that allow us to make the frame lighter, stronger, and more durable. Our ability to control every aspect of the manufacturing process allows us to optimize every aspect of the frame design. Advancements like the Svelte Fork increase control, stiffness, and comfort, while the tapered steerer tube enhances steering precision and introduces aerodynamic gains.
MANUFACTURING EXPERTISE
Always looking for innovative ways to make our bikes even better, we have used ultra high pressure molds when manufacturing the O2 frames. These molds remove excessive resin from the base material, which not only helps to keep the weight to a minimum, but also ensures a stronger, more efficient carbon frame. It’s an innovative engineering solution that translates directly into performance. This advanced manufacturing method allows us to create a stiff, responsive frame that also is comfortable enough for Paris-Roubaix cobbles and stable enough at high speeds to slice down an alpine descent.
UNCOMPROMISED RIGIDITY
The asymmetrical downtube forms the backbone of the frame, with the carbon layup focused on withstanding the various torsional forces each side of the bike will experience. The bottom bracket shares this asymmetric design to ensure the drive train side stands up to a WorldTour level power output. The rear triangle works to ensure solid acceleration through the drivetrain thanks largely to the beefy chainstays. The lithe seatstays introduce a comfortable level of vibration absorption without compromising the efficiency of power transfer.
ASYMMETRICAL DOWNTUBE
This serves as the backbone of the frame connecting the headtube to the bottom bracket. O2’s asymmetrical downtube provides a perfect balance of torsional and vertical stiffness and is largely responsible for the highly reactive and lively nature of the bike
POWER DRIVETRAIN
At the core of the Power Drivetrain sits the asymmetric bottom bracket, the design of which facilitates a smooth yet stiff transition between the asymmetric downtube and the tall chainstays. The continuous downtube-to-chainstay structure of the O2 frame provides exceptional stiffness for minimum energy loss and maximum acceleration.
SVELTE FORK
Numerous layups and endless hours spent perfecting the design, every element of O2’s Svelte Fork focuses on the ultimate goal of increased control, stiffness, and comfort. Precise and light, the Svelte Fork uses a tapered steerer tube for increased steering precision and aerodynamic gains.
SLEEK INTERNAL CABLE ROUTING
The internal routing for the O2 series accommodates both electronic and mechanical shifting. Our design solutions all the system to remain mechanic-friendly and lightweight.
WIDE STANCE SEAT STAYS
Wide stance seat stays help with lateral stiffness in the rear triangle while keeping the seat stays thin for compliance and comfort.
TIRE CLEARANCE OF UP TO 30MM WIDE
Having the ability to run wide tires on this racing bike offers the rider greater choice and improved comfort.

STATE OF THE ART CARBON FIBRE
To achieve ambitious goals for weight and stiffness, Factor invented a new manufacturing method, built an advanced new factory and use superior materials, including boron in the external seatpost to achieve an extreme strength-to-weight ratio.
REVISED RIDER POSITION
The stack height of the new O2 VAM is 10mm higher. Factor studied the position data of thousands of our customers and athletes to find the dimensions that would enable the most riders to achieve their optimal fit
NEW BOTTOM BRACKET
The T47 standard for threaded bottom brackets ensures a secure fit, easy maintenance, and contributes to exceptional power transfer.
ENHANCED RIDER COMFORT
The most visually apparent features of the O2 VAM relate to ride comfort as well as weight saving. The external seatpost, ultra-thin toptube and dropped seatstays all work together to promote controlled deflection at the saddle.
