Lightweight climbing wheelset
ERE Research Genus II SL30-R Carbon Disc Wheelset
A 1,188g carbon road wheelset that pairs shallow 30mm rims with Sapim carbon spokes and Panama SL hubs, built for riders who spend their best days going uphill.
Highlights
Why we rate it
Carbon spokes, very low weight
Sapim Aero Carbon spokes help bring the pair down to 1,188g (528g front, 660g rear), so every pedal stroke on a climb goes into speed rather than mass.
2:1 lacing
Each wheel uses 21 spokes in a 2:1 ratio, putting more tension where drive and braking loads arrive for a stiffer, more direct feel.
Panama SL hubs
ERE's lightweight Panama SL hubs sit at the centre of the build, with Centrelock rotor mounts and 12mm thru-axle spacing front and rear.
Modern tyre fit
A 21mm internal, 30mm external hooked rim comes taped for tubeless and suits 26-32mm tyres, with anything from 23mm to 36mm fitting.
Race legal
UCI approved and rated to a 130kg system weight, so they are as happy on race day as on a long weekend in the hills.
