Save space and weight in your tyre or in your pack. TPU tubes are less than half the size of a butyl tube, so you can carry two spares where one used to fit, or save 200g+ by replacing the butyl tubes in your tyres.
Spare TPU tubes have long had weak points: plastic valves that detach, valve cores pressed into plastic that leak, and sleeve joints that fail. SILCA's tubes use a patented mechanical valve-to-tube attachment and a welded joint, plus a threaded aluminium valve that resists heat from electric inflators, with a valve nut for a secure, rattle-free fit. TPU now all but matches latex or tubeless for rolling resistance, at a fraction of the weight.
