Both Aerodynamicist rim profiles were wind-tunnel developed and tested to offer low drag and crosswind stability, then hand-laced to HUNT Sprint SL hubs for quick 7.5-degree engagement and improved strength.
Tyre size: Aero optimized for 25 to 28mm tyres; work well with 23mm up to 40mm.

Aerodynamicist Rims
Aerodynamicist 29mm-wide rim, exclusively engineered and wind tunnel tested by HUNT's in-house engineering team, featuring a hooked & ETRTO-compliant tubeless-ready rim, designed for full clincher & tubeless tyre compatibility.

Sprint SL Hubs
Light, reliable, race-winning, and easy-to-service. Sprint SL hubs feature a 48T heat treated stainless steel ratchet ring combined with 3 multi-point pawls. The system delivers a fast 7.5°engagement angle and proven durability.

Spokes
We chose the top-of-the-range Pillar Spoke Re-enforcement PSR XTRA models. These butted blade aero spokes are lighter but also provide a greater degree of elasticity to maintain tensions longer and add fatigue resistance
TECHNOLOGY _
Following the release of our UD Carbon Spoke Disc range, many of you were asking if we could offer the Aerodynamicist rims found in that range with conventional steel spokes for usability & ease of maintenance.
As with all wheels featuring an Aerodynamicist profile, we've performed wind tunnel testing on the wheels to bring you the information on not only how these stack up against competitor wheelsets, but also how they sit within our range.

BearingsHigh-grade Japanese EZO bearings. Rear hub upgraded to even faster rolling LU/LB low-friction sealed internal face, dual sealed external face bearings. Incredibly fast rolling.
Tyres InfoHUNT recommends a 25-28mm tyre for best performance, tyre widths between 22mm and 47mm are also safe to use. Note: best performance is usually gained by using tyre pressures lower than the maximum, you can see our blog post about this, read here. Tubeless-ready for lower weight and rolling resistance. You must not exceed the maximum tyre pressure limits set out in the table below or the maximum limit set by your tyre manufacturer if this is lower.

Aerodynamicist Rim Profile
As learned from our Limitless Research project & consistent wind tunnel time across the past 2 years, we know that an optimum aerodynamic benefit for a drop-bar bike is yielded from widening rim profiles. The reasons for this is that it allows for a far more 'blunted' spoke bed area, which (depending on which part of the wheel you're looking at) is both the leading and trailing edge.
Aerodynamicist Rim Profile
The benefits of blunted spoke bed areas revolve primarily around the predictable airflow, with the wind ‘hugging’ the rim as it passes across it (as opposed to older style V-shaped rims, which would create turbulence in the form of stalls). The wider profile ensures the flow stays attached to the surface as long as possible before the point of separation, which is key as yaw angles increase..
Sprint SL Hubs
SPRINT SL hubs add strength and enhance power transfer, meaning all your force pushes you forwards. Large 15mm diameter hub axles for sprinting and out-of-saddle climbing responsiveness. Circular dropout interface steps add extra stiffness.
Spokes
We chose the top-of-the-range Pillar Spoke Re-enforcement PSR XTRA models. These butted blade aero spokes are lighter but also provide a greater degree of elasticity to maintain tensions longer and add fatigue resistance. PSR spokes feature the 2.2 width at the spoke head providing more material in this high stress area. The nipples come with a hex head so you can achieve precise tensioning. Combining these components well is key which is why all HUNT wheels are hand-built.
Freehub Body
Featuring a 3 multi-point pawls with 3 teeth each and a 48 tooth ratchet ring results in an impressively low 7.5 degree engagement angle and excellent resistance to wear under heavy loads. The Sprint SL freehub has strong individual pawl springs which engage quicker. There is also a Steel Spline Insert re-enforcement to provide excellent durability against cassette sprocket damage often seen on standard alloy freehub bodies.
Rim Bed
H_LOCK is our tubeless-ready rim bed profile with up-kicks to the shoulders of the tubeless steps which help to create a great rim-well seal for first installation and easy sealing of tubeless tyres. The H-Lock profile also locks the beads in place more securely once seated. This is especially important when running lower pressures off road.

Stated wheel weights: Our stated wheel weights reflect the wheelset only; without rim tape, tubeless valves or disc brake lock rings, as is industry standard. A 3% variance (lower or higher) in total system weight is normal for wheelset manufacturing.
All HUNT wheels models have to pass our harsh cobbled-rolling-road tests for rider weight limits, please see here for more details. Max system weight 125 kg (system weight – total weight of fully kitted up rider, bike and luggage). If the system is over 105 kg then an experienced bike mechanic should check the wheel regularly.
