Carbon SPD-SLR road race pedal
Shimano Dura-Ace PD-R9300 SPD-SLR Road Pedals
Shimano's newest flagship road pedal and the first on its SPD-SLR system, launched September 2026. It drops the shoe closer to the axle than any Shimano pedal before it, for a firmer, more connected feel under hard efforts.
Highlights
Why we rate it
Lowest Shimano stack yet
Pedal stack is 2.3mm lower than Dura-Ace SPD-SL. Paired with SPD-SLR shoes, the total saving is about 3mm.
Gapless cleat interface
The cleat locks onto the pedal body with no gap, so there is less rocking and a more direct feel.
Outboard bearing
One of the two cup-and-cone bearings sits outside the pedal body. This stiffens the platform and cuts rotational drag compared with the Ultegra pedal.
Shallower entry angle
Engagement happens at about 10.5 degrees rather than SPD-SL's 15.5, so clipping in feels quicker and more natural.
New cleat family
Comes with yellow CL-SL110 cleats (6 degrees total float). Red fixed, blue 2-degree and grey CL-SL130 cleats are sold separately. The grey cleat gives SPD-SL-style fore-aft adjustment.
Not SPD-SL compatible
SPD-SLR cleats will not fit SPD-SL pedals and SPD-SL cleats will not fit these, so riders switching systems need new cleats.

Sachet Instructions
1. Grab your empty old bottle of Muc-Off. (You may need a pair of adjustable pliers to remove the trigger from the bottle). Or purchase our Bottle for Life.
2. Fill up to the shoulders of the bottle with 1 litre of lukewarm water for faster formula activation!
3. Carefully cut one corner of the sachet open along the diagonal cut lines.
4. You can carefully pour the sachet straight into the top of the bottle. Or using the box, fold the inside of the lid together using the printed lines as a guide and use this as a funnel to pour the powder into your bottle. (Please see our video for full instructions on this.
5. Screw your spray trigger back onto the top of the bottle. Ensure it’s tight!
6. Shake the bottle vigorously for 30-60 seconds to activate the formula. If you notice any undissolved powder simply keep shakin’ it!
7. Go clean that filthy bike!
